Macomb County Walk for Warmth Fundraiser

Attention Macomb County Residents!!   Ben Lang Properties would like to announce an upcoming fundraiser in Shelby Township MI.

Macomb County Community Services Agency, MCCSA, will be holding the 21st annual Walk for Warmth on February 19, 2011 at St. Therese of Lisieux in Shelby Township Michigan.

Walk for Warmth raises funds to assist low-income families, individuals, and senior citizens with staying warm in their homes through furnace repair, furnace replacement and preventing heat shut-off throughout Macomb County.

The typical recipient of Walk for Warmth funds is a family of four with an annual income of less than $33,000.  A large percentage of people seeking emergency help are either elderly or have small children in the home.

There are many ways you can help support this cause.  You can be a walker, a sponsor and donator, or an event supporter.

• Walkers collect monetary pledges prior to the Walk.  On the day of the event the walkers walk up to three miles outside in the cold to show their support of those in need. About 300 walkers participate in an average year. The minimum pledge per walker is twenty dollars.

• Sponsors and donators include businesses, churches, individuals and other groups who make monetary contributions toward Walk for Warmth.

• Event supporters donate goods or services to help put on the Walk for Warmth event.

Sponsors and donators will receive letters of thanks, a certificate or plaque, recognition at the Walk through a continuously run PowerPoint presentation and a listing in the event program.  Event supporters will receive a letter of thanks and recognition at the Walk and in the event program.
